Frederick Carl Frieseke was an American artist and a prominent representative of American Impressionism. Inspired by French art, particularly Claude Monet, he settled in Giverny, where he created vibrant color compositions and sunlit scenes of everyday life. Frieseke focused primarily on depictions of female figures in sun-drenched gardens and interiors, developing his own distinctive, decorative Impressionist style. His works, including The Garden Parasol and Woman with a Parasol, were highly regarded and received multiple awards in both France and the United States.
